So this is just a video I posted on Instagram the other day. You can see my dad peeking out at the end. We are a little bored because we can't go outside!
First and foremost, happy new year!! Hope 2019 is filled with joy and success for all of you guys! As of me, I am back in Florida getting ready to compete in two Eggland events, and am definitely enjoying the warmer weather than what I’ve been experiencing in Japan. (But apparently the winter in Japan wasn’t as bad this year compared to the usual.) I am writing this blogpost to announce LaceLocker®️ as my first sponsorship as I pursue my LPGA dream! I am very grateful for the opportunity they have given me, and love having them on my team. I met their executive director, Carol ‘Stash’ Stanley when I was still at UVA, and I just really can’t thank her enough for her generosity and more than anything, her belief in my game. I definitely had times when I questioned myself as I decided to turn professional and continue playing, but I decided to put all worries aside and just believe in the process and myself, because so many people, like Stash, encouraged me and beli...
Hi, for those of you that don't know me, I'd like to give you a little introduction of myself. My name is Maho Hayakawa, I am a Japanese golfer playing tournaments around the world. I moved to Dubai when I was 7, and that's where I started playing golf with my family. I was lucky I got to continue playing the game; I moved to Japan and Mexico after I left Dubai, but both countries had good golfing environment (less so in Japan) and I was able to continue competing. I spent 2 years of high school at the Mike Bender Golf Academy in Lake Mary, Fl, training with Mike Bender. I just graduated from University of Virginia where I played on the golf team, and I turned professional right after I graduated, in 2018. For the past year and a half, I've been competing in Eggland's Golf Tour, Cactus Tour, Japan Ladies Circuit, and Japanese ATP tournaments. My goal is to play on a Ladies Professional Tour, and as of October 2018, I am preparing to play the 2020 LET Q ...

A lot has happened since the last post- first, I didn’t make it past 2nd stage of pro test in Japan :( It was really disappointing because I didn't play well at all, and when I think about it now, I really didn't prepare for it the way I wanted to. I turned professional in May, and ever since then, I feel like I had too much going on and was never fully focused on the "present." I think the hardest thing about becoming a professional athlete is dealing with uncertainty. I think it's different if you already have status on some tour and have a set schedule, but as for now, I am trying to get status for the following season, so nothing is really set. I remember complaining about uncertain schedule with college golf, but it's mu...
