A Wrap to my 2021 Season: LET Q School and Off-Season



Happy Holidays everyone, and I hope everyone is enjoying the end of 2021! 

My season has come to an end (finally!), with Q School last week in Murcia, Spain. 

I had some highs and lows in my 2021 season. 
I was satisfied with how I started the season, then struggled in mid-August while competing in Sweden. I thought I had my game back when I made the cut in France but was bummed when I missed the cut again in my last LETAS event in Barcelona. 

All in all, it was a roller-coaster season for me! 

But a big high for me was making the cut at LET Pre-Qualifier and competing in the Finals last week. It was something I couldn't do 2 years ago when I played my first Q school for the Ladies European Tour, and coming back to get it done proved how much better I got. 

I am extremely thankful for everyone who has given me their full support this year, and I am also grateful for some amazing friends I've made this year. 

So what's next? 

I have taken this week off to disconnect and relax, and I will use this time to reflect on what I need for this upcoming season. I am very excited!

2021年も怒涛のスピードで過ぎてしまいました！
シーズンも終わったので今は何もしないでぼぉーっとしています。

といっても、オフの間ずっとぐうたらするわけにもいかないのでまた来年の目標を立ててちゃんとトレーニング・練習を再開します！

今年は本当に濃い一年でした。6月から今月までノンストップで試合があったので、本当に大会関係者様には感謝の気持ちしかありません。

コロナで先が見えなかったり不安も多いかと思いますが、
お身体を大事に来年こそはよい年であることを願っています。

今年もありがとうございました！
来年もパワーアップして頑張ります。

Little about me, my goals, and purpose/ まほです！よろしくお願いします！

Hi, for those of you that don't know me, I'd like to give you a little introduction of myself. My name is Maho Hayakawa, I am a Japanese golfer playing tournaments around the world. I moved to Dubai when I was 7, and that's where I started playing golf with my family. I was lucky I got to continue playing the game; I moved to Japan and Mexico after I left Dubai, but both countries had good golfing environment (less so in Japan) and I was able to continue competing. I spent 2 years of high school at the Mike Bender Golf Academy in Lake Mary, Fl, training with Mike Bender. I just graduated from University of Virginia where I played on the golf team, and I turned professional right after I graduated, in 2018. For the past year and a half, I've been competing in Eggland's Golf Tour, Cactus Tour, Japan Ladies Circuit, and Japanese ATP tournaments. My goal is to play on a Ladies Professional Tour, and as of October 2018, I am preparing to play the 2020 LET Q

Updates from Japan・日本でゴルフ

Hi, hope you’re all having a good summer! I want to first apologize for not updating the blog frequently. My keypad on my laptop broke and with moving, practicing, adjusting to Japan, I had a hard time securing time to sit and write. A lot has happened since the last post-  first, I didn’t make it past 2nd stage of pro test in Japan :( It was really disappointing because I didn't play well at all, and when I think about it now,  I really didn't prepare for it the way I wanted to. I turned professional in May, and ever since then, I feel like I had too much going on and was never fully focused on the "present." I think the hardest thing about becoming a professional athlete is dealing with uncertainty. I think it's different if you already have status on some tour and have a set schedule, but as for now, I am trying to get status for the following season, so nothing is really set.
